MY DOGS
Ch. Lester Border Reiver
Kenni was bred by Julie Clarke, Lester Kennels. She is a grand-daughter of
the lovely Ch.Ladebraes Larkspur (Beva) owned by Bev Rodgers, Kirkcaldy Kennels.
Althought not shown extensively, she had a very successful show career,
with many group wins to her credit.
Now retired (like her owner) she enjoys life in the country in sunny Bay
of Plenty.

Ladebres Lairigs Lass
Jordi is Kenni's daughter to Cool Breeze ( imp.UK) ( Donald), owned by
Sylvia and Ian Clark. Unfortunately, by the time Jordi came along, arthritis had caught
up with me, so she never really got the chance to show her mettle in the show ring. She does a
creditable agility perfromance at home with grand-daughter Courtney and is a lovely and
loving companion to us all.

Ch. Ladebraes Lace 'N Lavenda
Libby, my lovely Libby, she had a most successful show career, was a great
mother to 23 pups from three litters and certainly earned her retirement!
She is a great rabbitter, straight down the rabbit-hole. A bit of a
minx, with a delightful temperament, adores children, other dogs and food!

Ch. Otterhead of Catdeugh
Jock was my first Border Terrier in New Zealand. I hadn't known Borders
were in New Zealand till I saw Jim Graham and Rosemary Williamson at a show with their
dogs. I had to have one, I wanted a bitch, but Jim had a litter and insisted the dog
pup was the better choice if I wanted a show dog. How right he was I couldn't have had a
better dog. Jock was all anyone could want as a show dog and companion. The
photo of him in front of the mandarin tree is so typical, he used to pick them off the
tree, peel and eat them.
He never was a dog to roll in smelly things, but put scented soap or such
down and Jock would roll till the cows came home!
He sired many champions, both in New Zealand and Australia, and I was
regularly in the Best in Show line up with him

Ch. Ladebraes Laverock
My lovely Kate, this photo was taken at 14 years of age, shortly before she died.
Like her father, Jock, she was regularly in the Best in Show line up. A top terrier
judge from UK told me once "She has the movement most of us only dream of
breeding". This followed through to most of her offspring, so many of
them also successful in the ring.
Like her daughter Libby she was an inveterate hunter. A couple of times we had to dig
her out after she'd gone down a rabbit-hole and gorged herself down there!
